Morning Prayer

(This prayer came about after 9/11 when I awoke the morning of Sept 12 and realized all the protection God had given us during the night.)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for our armed forces who protected our country during the night. Thank You for our allies and the technology we have; may it only be used for peace.

Thank You for our first responders -- 911 dispatchers, firemen and ambulance drivers. Please keep them safe.

Thank You for our police forces: national, state, county and local police.

Thank You for all the doctors, nurses and technicians who worked thru the night to relieve suffering. Every medicine is a miracle from You. Every procedure is Your guidance. May You be praised for all these miracles and please enable us to share with those who do not have them.

Thank You for our missionaries who labored to spread the Gospel. Protect them and provide for them.

Now all of these will be going to bed. Give them the rest and protection they provided for us. And especially protect their families from the problems and pitfalls of working third shift.

We pray this in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Thank you, Annonymous, for your kind comments. I live near a nuclear power plant and one of the concerns on Sept. 11, was that someone might try to fly a plane into one of these plants. And we would never have seen a new day. When I woke up on Sept. 12 and everything was fine, I realized how truly blessed we are to have all these guardian angels protecting us thru the nights. I worked late shift and I know the problems it can be for marriages and child rearing. May God protect our protectors and their families as they protect us.

We can have peaceful sleep, knowing that we're protected by so many people. I appreciate your Morning Prayer very much. We take so much for granted, so that was very thoughtful of you to remember all of them in your prayer. It was a good reminder to us all. Thank you.
