I wonder if I'm truly hearing from God

The first time I heard the Lord, was on a Halloween night, when I returned the children back home from trick or treating. I heard the Lord say check that apple, and just as I turned around I saw my son getting ready to bite down, was when I stopped him. Taking the apple I cut it open, and there lay a "RAZOR BLADE." If I hadn't listen to the Lord that night...It would have tore my baby mouth up. After that experience I learned to listen. Did God really speak to me?
